Converging Perspectives is a media company dedicated to solving wicked problems by synthesizing diverse perspectives and presenting real world solutions. Tackling social problems in an interdisciplinary fashion, we seek out scholars and experts to interview. Taking multiple angles and viewpoints into account to achieve a comprehensive synthesis, we then employ arts as a way of disseminating the new perspective or solution.
We develop and produce feature films, videos, TV shows, podcasts, online courses, music videos, written articles, and public service announcements.
About Andrew
Andrew Shepherd, the founder and President of Converging Perspectives, is a writer, a musician, a mediator, a teacher, and a founding member of Mind-University. A graduate of the USC School of Cinematic Arts, he has written screenplays and produced films and videos to shatter old paradigms and converge perspectives. His web-series Campaign America! in which a spiritual guru runs for president, highlights the underbelly of political psychology and how politicos manipulate us to attain power. After the 2016 election, he dedicated his life to psychology and building the Mind-University mind-training program to help people think critically and approach “full-mind utilization.” In 2020 he partnered with Christian Shimer to develop the docuseries Decoding Assholes: Difficult People and What to Do About Them.
Christian Shimer is an author and digital filmmaker specializing in the niche of fundraising videos for nonprofit organizations since 2005. He worked hand in hand with his father, John Shimer, a leading fundraising consultant in the United States. Together they combined storytelling techniques from film with the fundamentals of major-gift capital development and created the first ever format for non-profit videos called the Video Case Statement! Christian started as a DJ aboard cruise ships and became Cruise Director for Royal Caribbean International, responsible for all of the entertainment and activities as well as host of the cruise. He worked in talk radio in Las Vegas and was a comedy punch-up writer for sitcoms. His focus now is developing a limited streaming series that reveals the tactics and strategies of narcissistic, abusive, and dangerous people. He has co-authored a new book on the same topic.
